I have heard countless people describe growing up in homes where they knew their parents cared about them, but many of the words, actions, and behaviors left them with wounds to deal with in adulthood. These wounds and traumas show up in adulthood in many ways, such as in patterns of settling for relationships that don’t serve you, overthinking everything, and medicating emotions with food, alcohol, and even sex. And while most people try to suck it up and move on, the truth is what you do not deal with finds a way to sneak into how you feel physically, how you live, and how you love. So On today’s show, we are going take a look at healing childhood trauma as an adult. And to help us unpack this topic, I’ve brought Maira Holzmann. She is a licensed therapist, and I think her approach to healing will definitely surprise you.
